New Pattern: Jasper Crossover Collar Add-On

Attention all Jasper lovers: there’s a new look to create with the Jasper Sweater & Dress pattern! The Jasper Crossover Collar Add-on can be used in conjunction with the Jasper pattern to create a modern crossover collar and a kangaroo pocket. The add-on includes full instructions and a new Front pattern piece to accommodate the higher neckline. The collar is lined and can be worn two ways, depending on your choice of fabric. With a stiff fabric you can shape it to sit upright, and with a lighter fabric you can also roll it down. A contrasting lining like we used in the sample is a fun way to add something extra.

Jasper Crossover Collar Add-On

This is a fun new option for the Jasper Sweater & Dress. It includes a new collar that crosses over in the front, set into a wide crew neckline. It can be worn two ways, depending on your choice of fabric. And if you find the welt pockets in the original Jasper a bit too daunting, this add-on also includes a kangaroo pocket. Quick to sew and with it’s characteristic princess seam lines, you’ll make yourself a flattering and cosy new sweater in no-time!

Jasper Sweater & Dress

Designed with the cold seasons in mind, the Jasper is the perfect garment for snuggling up on the couch with a hot cup of something. This design features princess seams that give a closer fit than traditional sweatshirts and create flattering vertical lines. The single welt pockets are set in these side seams and are connected by a tube pocket on the inside. Hem and cuffs are banded.

Jasper Crossover Collar – Tutorial by Stannel

I am so thrilled to have this post for you today! A while back a gorgeous Jasper hack popped up in my feed. Lindsey from Stannel had used another tutorial on the Jasper to make a collar with a crossover front. She mentioned wanting to do a tutorial in Dutch, so I asked if I could post it here too, and she said yes. This one will be in English, you can read the Dutch version on Lindsy’s blog. Take it away Lindsy!

Princess Seam Full Bust Adjustment Pt. 1

The Jasper Sweater/Dress V.2.0 comes in both B/C-cup and C/D-cup, depending on the size you choose. If you have a previous version, the two size sets come in a B and a C cup. Even though it is a sweater, it is semi-fitted through the princess seams and it’s possible that you need to do a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA). I’m going to show you how to do this on the Jasper in two posts. First we’ll look at how to determine if you need an FBA and by how much.

Jasper – How to Choose Your Fabric

The Jasper instructions already provide a clue to what sort of fabric is best suited for this pattern. The Jasper is a structured sweatshirt, not a sloppy one so it’s important to choose the right fabric. In this post I want to elaborate on what fabric qualities you’re looking for, and where to find them.
