How To Make a Smaller Jasper Hood

The hood on the Jasper is big. This is an intentional design feature and it makes the hood different than standard sweatshirt hoods. It is not meant to envelop your head, but to rest on it lightly, not pulled all the way to the front. For those who would like the hood to be less big, today I’m showing how to make the hood smaller. We’ll make it more narrow at the sides, and make it sit more towards the back.

Princess Seam Full Bust Adjustment Pt. 2

In the last post we’ve discussed how to check if you need a full bust adjustment and how much to add to the pattern. Princess Seam Full Bust Adjustment Pt. 1

The Jasper Sweater/Dress V.2.0 comes in both B/C-cup and C/D-cup, depending on the size you choose. If you have a previous version, the two size sets come in a B and a C cup. Even though it is a sweater, it is semi-fitted through the princess seams and it’s possible that you need to do a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA). I’m going to show you how to do this on the Jasper in two posts. First we’ll look at how to determine if you need an FBA and by how much.

Pattern Magic Inspiration

Hurray, it’s time for the continuation of the Pattern Magic series! Back in 2013 I wanted to make one pattern from the Pattern Magic books each month, but got stranded after month 5. We were preparing for our big trip, I was working during the day and drafting the Jade in the evenings, and there just wasn’t any time left. I am excited to get started again, I have found more Pattern Magic sources and I intend to use them all!

How Our Sizechart Works

In this post I’d like to give you some insight in how our size chart is built up, and how we came to this range of sizes. As you might know almost every indie pattern company creates its own sizechart. Every designer does his or her research on the subject, and then chooses the sizes/size proportions he or she thinks represent the average women best. I know, there is no such thing as an average woman, but you have to draft your patterns based on something, right?
