About to Make Our Pattern? Check Your Version Number!

One of the reasons I like a pattern in PDF form is that it is not a static product. A digital product can be altered even after people have bought it. Even though a pattern has gone through a thorough testing phase, there’s always things that can come up later. Sometimes it’s just a typo, other times it is the wording of an instruction step, sometimes it’s something in the pattern design. Different people notice different things – it cannot be avoided.

New Pattern: Opal Cardigan

We’re proud to present our new pattern, the Opal Cardigan! This garment has filled a hole in my wardrobe and sparked a love for cardigans. I’ve always thought I was a sweater person, but the truth is that I just hadn’t found the right style yet. It can be described best as no fuss with clean lines. It has a relaxed fit so you can throw it over anything if you need the extra layer. It’s just as easy to take off again since it has no buttons or buttonholes. Sewing buttonholes in a stretchy knit can’t be anyones favourite and you won’t have to with the Opal. This makes it a really quick sew as well, to be finished in just a few hours. This cardigan is perfect to throw on if you want to add more dimension to your outfit, or just to stay warm this winter. It’s even better for those days where you’re not sure you’ll need the extra layer since it’s so easy to throw on and off.

Fuel your Creativity by Organising your Stash – Part 1

Let’s talk about the size of our fabric stash today! I know – being honest about the amount of fabric and patterns you have might induce a certain amount of embarrassment and guilt. I seem to have an alter ego that takes over when looking at fabric. This other version of me has all the time in the world, the wildest ideas and never loses her mojo. Unfortunately this alter ego is not much connected with reality. I buy that fabric or pattern and then find that I have no time at all. Thus my stash accumulates and with it my guilt about purchases.

5 Tips to Cater to Your International Customers

With the international sewing community growing steadily, it has become increasingly important to cater to all those that might buy your sewing patterns. If I look at my customer base, over a hundred countries are represented – quite astonishing right? And it would be great if all those countries would use the same standards in measurements, paper size and such, but unfortunately this is not the case. If you want to cater to national as well as international customers you have to make sure that all can use your patterns easily.

Introducing: The Amber Trousers

If you were looking for the perfect pair of summer pants, you’ve found them! Our newest pattern, the Amber Trousers will keep you cool and stylish this season. The goal was to create a pair of summer pants that flow and are quick to sew, but without an elastic waistband. Because let’s face it, however comfortable, those aren’t flattering on anyone. Especially if you’re a wide-hipped or curvy-tummied girl, you’ll know what I mean. The Amber Trousers have a fitted yoke on the front and back, to keep that waist-to-hip area smooth. The V-shape of the yokes lend a beautiful feminine touch. Below that, the pant legs flow out with an inverted box pleat to give your legs room to breathe. I’ve worn these pants to death last summer, and I hope you’ll like them just as much as I do. Read on for more details on the pattern and a sale!
