Fuel Your Creativity by Organising Your Stash – Pt. 3

It’s been a few months since I wrote part 1 and part 2 of these mini series, and I thought I’d report back on how my system has worked so far. The first post was about how my large stash was inhibiting my creativity, not fuelling it. Because I didn’t know what fabrics and what patterns I had, and there was no way to quickly browse through them, thinking about a new project made me indecisive rather than inspired. Instead of using great fabric I already had, I just purchased new fabric. I’ve found that organising my stash, patterns and fabric both made it easier to see what I have and to come up with new projects that didn’t require spending money. Today I’ll talk about whether this system has held up and some new insights I gained.

New Pattern: Jasper Crossover Collar Add-On

Attention all Jasper lovers: there’s a new look to create with the Jasper Sweater & Dress pattern! The Jasper Crossover Collar Add-on can be used in conjunction with the Jasper pattern to create a modern crossover collar and a kangaroo pocket. The add-on includes full instructions and a new Front pattern piece to accommodate the higher neckline. The collar is lined and can be worn two ways, depending on your choice of fabric. With a stiff fabric you can shape it to sit upright, and with a lighter fabric you can also roll it down. A contrasting lining like we used in the sample is a fun way to add something extra.

Jasper Sweater & Dress

Designed with the cold seasons in mind, the Jasper is the perfect garment for snuggling up on the couch with a hot cup of something. This design features princess seams that give a closer fit than traditional sweatshirts and create flattering vertical lines. The single welt pockets are set in these side seams and are connected by a tube pocket on the inside. Hem and cuffs are banded.

Coral Sweater & Dress

The Coral Sweater & Dress is a fun sweater or dress perfect for playing with different colors or patterns. The design lines curve around your body like a wave, creating a playful look. You can use two to three different fabrics, or use the same fabric for all the parts and highlight the design lines with some flat piping. View A is a sweater with a high-low hem that sews up quickly. View B is a longer version that can be worn as a tunic with pants or as a dress with tights or leggings. It also has pockets set into the lower horizontal curved seam. The neckline can be finished with a neckband or with a collar for extra cozyness.

Introducing: Zircon Sweater/Dress

Our newest pattern is here and we love it! The Zircon Sweater/Dress is perfect for wintertime, as a sweater with jeans or as a sweater dress with tights and booties. The silhouette is simple, relaxed and slightly cocoon shaped. This leaves all room for the geometric yokes to shine! They extend into the sleeves, creating a softly rounded shoulder. The bracelet length tapered sleeves complement the relaxed shape of the garment. Both dress and sweater have optional insets at the hem for those who cannot get enough of the geometrical details. The Zircon and all other patterns are 20% off until Sunday 00:00 CET.
