Today I’ll show you how to tie a nice bow on the Musubu dress (or any other dress with a bow). Tying a bow when you’re looking at it from above can take some attempts to get it right. Follow the steps below and you”ll get it right the first time!
The instructions for the Jade skirt include steps to install an exposed zipper at the back. This is our favourite method since you won’t be able to see any seams on the outside. Below we’ve listed some other methods that you could use also. Note that the zipper is an optional feature if you’re using a knit fabric.

Sometimes when there’s a new Indie pattern company I buy their pattern just to see how they’re doing things. How have they styled their instructions? What do their PDF patterns look like? What new inventions have they come up with to improve user experience? And I imagine you’re wondering about the same when you see a new company pop up. We’ve gotten used to a certain standard from Indie patterns and expectations are high. Since we’re new in the neighbourhood I thought I’d show you some previews of our patterns and instructions so you know what you get when you buy a pattern from us.
As a ‘new to the game’ indie designer I love reading from other designers about their process (most recently Marilla Walker’s). They make all the hard work behind a pattern visible and understandable. It has become clear that practically all Indie designers work their ass off for little pay, but for a lot of love, satisfaction and energy. For me it’s no different, and in this post I’d like to give you a peek behind the scenes and talk about what goes into my pattern creating process.

In this post I’d like to give you some insight in how our size chart is built up, and how we came to this range of sizes. As you might know almost every indie pattern company creates its own sizechart. Every designer does his or her research on the subject, and then chooses the sizes/size proportions he or she thinks represent the average women best. I know, there is no such thing as an average woman, but you have to draft your patterns based on something, right?
