Introducing Three New Patterns

Spring is here and so is our new Spring/Summer collection! I have three new patterns for you: a swimsuit/bikini, and oversized T-shirt and a lined purse. From now on, we will release a small collection of patterns twice a year, one in Spring and one in Autumn. Let me tell you more about these patterns!

The Ultraviolet Tee will be an everyday staple of your summer like the UV rays from summer sunshine. Oversized with short cut-on sleeves, the shirt can be sewn from knits or wovens. View A is slightly cropped and has a curved hem that meets sharp and high on the side and has a subtle high-low shape from front to back. Wear over a camisole, with high-waisted shorts, or enjoy showing a little peek of skin as you move around. View B is standard shirt length and has a straight hem. Available in 2 cup size options: A-C (dartless) or D-F (darted/gathered) and with an optional pocket. Fully illustrated step-by-step instructions provide separate construction information for wovens and knits.

The Nautilus Swimsuit has an elegant twist center front, like the shell of its namesake cephalopod. The pattern is fully lined and comes with 4 different cup size options (AA cup, A/B cup, C/D cup, or DD+ cup) to make fitting a breeze. Available as a one-piece suit (View A) with a cute little peek-a-boo under the twist or a bikini (View B/C). The bikini comes with twists on the bottom that echo the bodice twist (View B) or plain (View C). View B has a low rise, View C a choice between low rise and mid-rise. Instructions are included for optional cup insertion and side boning for coverage and support. The straps can be tied around the neck halter style or can be attached to the back. A full sewalong will be posted here soon, including fun hacks.

The Presidio Purse is a hobo style purse that features 3 different decorative front inset options – gathered or plain or leave them off – and you can sew them from the same fabric or spice it up with a contrast fabric. There are 2 different over-the-shoulder handle options – with hardware (a 2″ rectangular ring) or plain. The fully lined inside has a large zippered pocket and, inside of that, a smaller subdivided pocket for pens and a cell phone or wallet. A full sewalong will be posted here soon, including extra options like inserting piping and other variations.

Tuesday Stitches Logo

These patterns have previously been released by Erin of Tuesday Stitches, but since she has shut down her pattern business, we are re-releasing them at Paprika Patterns. Since Erin and I were business partners for a few years, I know her style and work ethic, so I am confident about standing behind these designs. They are well drafted, they have meticulous instructions, and they fit in well with the Paprika Patterns style.

They enable me to release patterns more often and expand my collection more rapidly, especially with the time constraint of having two small kids (and one more on the way!). And Erin is happy for her designs to keep being made and appreciated. She worked hard on them and poured her soul into each design, making sure it is perfect, so I’m certain you will enjoy them too!

I have made some changes to all the patterns for the re-release. Where applicable, I have added sizes on the upper end, so they all go up to size 30 US. I am restructuring instructions to fit better with the Paprika esthetic. Some patterns will be re-worked quite a bit, even adding new pattern options. And every pattern will be re-tested in the upper size range, and new models will show off the designs. I am super excited about this opportunity and I hope you’ll love the new patterns too!
